Go Walk St Andrews ~ Craigtoun Park
Craigtoun Park lies to the west St Andrews. Famous for it's 'Dutch Village' on the boating lake, it's a beautiful, well maintained park with free parking, 24/7 toilet facilities, fresh drinking water available for your dog and even free poo bags if you get caught short (during opening hours). Plenty of picnic tables and benches if you need to rest your weary legs.
It's an extremely popular visitor attraction so for simple dog walking purposes it is best enjoyed early morning or evening times in mid summer, but of course you can take the human family along too. Dogs are even accomodated on the miniature train ride, tractor ride and boats if you wish, I've had my dog on them all.
Bonus points for the hurdles at the top left hand corner of the park. These are meant for humans but they also make a great agility feature if your dog is so inclined. See video
If you enjoy running with your dog then Craigtoun Park hosts a very popular Park Run free 5k timed event every Saturday. See the Park Run website for registration and run details.
Best advice is to keep dogs under close control especially near the ponds. Blue green algae blooms have been present in the past and can cause illness, however notices will be posted if the top pond has a flourish.

Hazards : Train, Tractor, Summer crowds.
So in conclusion ...
A fantastic walk, the 8/10 rating is due to being a victim of it's own success, but made up for by the excellent facilities and safe surroundings.
